Pain: The body's check engine light

If you decided to just take out the battery of a smoke alarm that was beeping during a fire to just silence it it wouldn't make the fire go away would it??? Or if your check engine light came on due to a mechanical issue in your car placing a piece of tape over the check engine light isn't going to fix the real issue there as well. 

It seems today we very apt to apply these methods with own bodies. Whether it's to address neck, back, or joint pain taking a pill for a correctable issue will only mask the pain. as Chiropractors, we are not against pain meds. There is a time and a place for everything. It is all about allowing your body to function optimally. Chiropractors are skilled neuro-musculo-skeletal doctors that are trained to address that root cause of your aches and pain. If you correct the spine to alleviate pressure on a nerve you will not only help that person feel better but it will prevent that problem from getting worse. Next time you think about taking a pain med for your aches and pains try giving chiropractic care a shot first!
